ARLENE BOWMAKER – Chartered Physiotherapist
B.Sc (Hons)(Physio), MCSP, HCPC, ACPOHE
Graduating in 1992 with BSc Hons in Physiotherapy from the University of Ulster, Arlene has worked extensively within NHS and private practice. Her career has taken her around the world from Northern Ireland and Scotland and to Australia.
Arlene spent four exciting years working down under in Sydney and Adelaide but the impending arrival of her twin boys bought the family home to Central Scotland pronto!
During almost twenty years of clinical practise Arlene’s special areas of interest include soft tissue massage, clinical pilates, and hydrotherapy. Arlene also specialises in ergonomic assessments, occupational health and work related injuries and has worked closely with major office and manufacturing companies both in Scotland and Australia enabling her to identify common causes of repetitive injuries and long term chronic pain problems. Arlene recently qualified as a Nordic Walking instructor and runs workshops and weekly walks.
When there is free time from a hectic clinic and busy family Arlene is an avid reader (she’ll give any book a chance!) and an enthusiastic amateur runner.
